I write to you now, having witnessed Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump’s ludicrous, self-aggrandizing, politically motivated display in front of the entire corps of generals and admirals.

A disgraceful, deleterious moment for American leadership at home and around the world.

However, I also write to you after witnessing a stoic, principled corps of admirals and generals meet this moment with the same discipline and bearing that we have come to expect from the finest Military in the world.

This is a terrible time for our nation, but even now, I am proud to be an American. I am proud of our Troops, and I am proud of their leadership. And I am more determined than ever to stop this administration from doing further damage to the U.S. Military and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
