John— We’re now on day three of a government shutdown.

If you’re worried, scared, or downright furious, I’m with you.

This cruelty is not normal. Donald Trump wants to use this shutdown as cover to purge civil servants in mass firings and to dismantle federal agencies — which has always been his goal.

But any shutdown layoffs would be illegal . Trump has zero authority to fire federal workers.

And Republicans are still hoping you’re not paying attention as they try to rip healthcare away from tens of millions of Americans. However, Trump and his allies know these abuses of power are tanking their popularity. They’re weaker than they look.

I’m telling you, John — we can win this if we stand up and use our voices together. We can unseat crooked Republicans, take back a House majority, and get our government back to work for working people.

Republicans turned their back on Americans.
