Supervisor Lesko Discusses Justice Court Precinct Lines
judge Precicnt [ [link removed] ]
After meeting with the Presiding Justice of the Peace, I voted in favor of adding a new court in the West Valley. The White Tank Justice Court is currently overwhelmed, triple-booking trials just to keep up, which places an undue burden on our constituents and the justice system as a whole. This new court will ease that pressure and provide better, more timely access to justice for our growing West Valley community.
While we must be prudent with taxpayer dollars, this plan makes smart use of an existing building, minimizing costs while ensuring we meet current needs. Yes, it will require investment in remodeling, a new Justice of the Peace, and support staff, but it’s a necessary and strategic step. As our region continues to grow, we’ll likely need to add more courts in the future, and this is a responsible way to begin.
