I remember Election Night 2014 like it was yesterday.

The party of supporters gathered to watch the votes roll in together. My hardworking staff tracking every precinct. Holding my wife Lisa’s hand as the results showed a much closer outcome than anticipated.

Before election night, everyone assumed our campaign had it in the bag. The polls were on our side. Some news outlets had even called this campaign “unbeatable.”

And then we came less than 20,000 votes away from losing. It took three days to learn the final results. I won by just 0.8% of the vote.

I tell you this story because I know we can’t take anything for granted. And with so much on the line next year, we can’t sit back and hope for the best.

Not when national Republicans are eyeing our seat as a chance to grow their Senate majority.

Not when Donald Trump is building a $1 billion warchest for the midterms.

Not when billionaires have proved their willingness to spend whatever it takes to defeat Democrats and buy a favor from the Trump administration.

So I’ve got to ask you​​ – one of my most engaged and informed supporters – to help us fight back and hold the line next year.
