Election officials must notify voters if mail-in ballots are set aside, Pa. high court rules

"The state Supreme Court’s 4-3 decision Friday upholds lower court rulings that Washington County election officials violated voters’ rights by misleading them about the status of their mail-in ballots. 

This prevented voters from challenging the board’s decision to disqualify 259 vote-by-mail ballots or casting provisional ballots as a backup to ensure their votes were counted, the courts said."

We had a great Why Courts Matter presentation and panel discussion this week in Coatesville with Judge Timika Lane, Judge Fredda Maddox, Judge Gregory Hines, Federal Administrative Law Judge Nycole Watson (SSA), and NPPEF founding CEO Kadida Kenner.

The non-partisan, plain-language forum was well attended-- local pastors, elected officials, and neighbors of all ages showed up to learn and engage. You can see more photos here.

Thank you to Judah Ministry and Pastor Montez Jones for allowing us the meeting space and important conversation.

We had a fantastic turnout at last night's Judicial Education Forum - which included a presentation by founding CEO Kadida Kenner, followed by a panel discussion that included Judge Nicole Tate-Wilborn, Judge Stella Tsai, Judge Timika Lane, and Kadida Kenner.
