Global Antisemitism and Israel-Hamas War Top Meeting Agenda |
As part of the annual United National General Assembly gathering in NY, ADL staff and volunteer leaders met with dozens of world leaders, foreign ministers and other dignitaries on issues of concern to ADL and the Jewish community.
Among the issues ADL advocated on were the hostages being held in Gaza, the spike in global antisemitism, the need for governments to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism and implement national action plans to combat antisemitism, Iran’s malign behavior, and the systematic antisemitism and anti-Israel bias within the UN system.
ADL also raised concerns with countries who announced their intention to prematurely recognize a Palestinian state, explaining why this action emboldens Hamas and does little to advance Israeli-Palestinian peace, and pushed back against governments like Spain whose leaders have taken overtly anti-Israel positions.

ADL Survey Reveals Most Global Jewish Students Conceal Identity |
A groundbreaking global survey by ADL and the World Union of Jewish Students revealed that 78% of Jewish university students worldwide hide their religious identity and 81% conceal their Zionist identity for safety reasons.
The first comprehensive study of its kind, conducted across 1,727 Jewish students from over 60 countries, found that more than one in three respondents know Jewish peers who were physically threatened, and one in five know peers who were physically attacked on campus this past year. The survey also showed that Orthodox Jewish students experience twice the level of discrimination as other Jewish students, and nearly 30% of Jewish students requesting religious accommodations are denied or only sometimes granted them, with the problem most severe in Europe.
