And three more injured. The attack took place at a synagogue in Manchester on the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. Telegraph: The 35-year-old British citizen of Syrian descent was shot dead by police moments after he targeted worshippers at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester shortly before 9:30am. Two people were killed and three others seriously injured in the car and knife attack, which took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. The suspect was shot within seven minutes of the first call to the emergency services and three people have since been arrested over the attack ( Telegraph). PM Starmer Has Facilitated Islamist Immigration and Rise in Antisemitism
And now he’s shocked … shocked that raw Jew hatred on the streets would result in this. Melanie Phillips on Starmer’s lack of leadership since the October 7, 2023 attack from Hamas in Isreal: At no point has Starmer done what any responsible and civilised leader should have done, which is to have said that this hysteria is based on lies and rubbish and error and prejudice and antisemitism. Why hasn’t he said that? A number of reasons, but one of them is that he can’t say it because so many of his own members of parliament are stoking this very hysteria and stoking the Jew hatred that has followed ( Phillips). Brendan O’Neill: Enough is enough. The ugly rebirth of anti-Semitism is always a sign that a society has veered off the path of Enlightenment and taken a very dark turn indeed. Heaton Park is a warning to Britain, and to humanity. If we fail to heed it, not only our Jewish citizens but our society itself will be in greater trouble than we can imagine. Where Jews are not safe to worship, barbarism has superseded civilization ( Spectator).

Netanyahu: “Weakness in the face of terrorism only brings more terrorism”
The Israeli Prime Minister was commenting the wake of the Yom Kippur attack in Manchester: “Israel grieves with the Jewish community in the UK after the barbaric terror attack in Manchester,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Our hearts are with the families of the murdered, and we pray for the swift recovery of the wounded. As I warned at the UN: weakness in the face of terrorism only brings more terrorism. Only strength and unity can defeat it” ( Jerusalem Post).

Leader Thune on the Schumer Shutdown: “The American people are seeing through it”
The Senate Majority Leader joined Hugh Hewitt on Thursday. It’s becoming increasingly clear that Minority Leader Schumer has essentially buckled to AOC (Alexandra Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and the radical left. Thune: It’s just such the narrative they’ve tried to construct out there that this is somehow they’re trying to manufacture this huge healthcare crisis and then they come up with this crazy bill, which loaded up with a trillion and a half dollars of new spending and free healthcare for illegals …. And clearly he has to, I guess … bow at the altar of the far left. And I don’t know, maybe for political survival, but I don’t know how this washes in the long term with the American public. And the American people see through it…. And most of ’em realize what we’re talking about here is a short-term extension to fund the government and then to get back and do the other work. He’s tried to hijack this short-term funding resolution to do a whole bunch of the liberal left-wing wishlist. And I think the American people are seeing through it ( Hewitt). Schumer Shutdown Cuts Food Aid to 6.7 Million Women and Children
Scott McClallen of Townhall reports: The Schumer Shutdown of the federal government has cut aid to 6.7 million women, infants, and children, according to Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fl. “The government shutdown has cut aid to 6.7 million women, infants and children. The WIC program is now on hold because these people can’t put aside their egos and political games. WIC gives food to the most vulnerable in this country, and as a result American children are starving. Please stop the nonsense and reopen these programs immediately” ( Townhall).

“Think before you post”
Sounds like a message from Big Brother when you consider the source: That X post comes from the official government page of the United Kingdom ( Gov.UK). More from the Crown Prosecution Service: Think before you post! Content that incites violence or hatred isn’t just harmful – it can be illegal. The CPS takes online violence seriously and will prosecute when the legal test is met. Remind those close to you to share responsibly or face the consequences ( Crown). New York Post: Data suggests over 30 people a day are arrested for speech crimes, about 12,000 a year, under laws written well before the age of social media that make crimes of sending “grossly offensive” messages or sharing content of an “indecent, obscene or menacing character.” Social media continues to be flooded with videos of British cops banging on doors in the middle of the night and hauling parents off to jail—all over mean Facebook posts and agitated words on X ( New York Post).

Hamas Military Chief Presses Leaders to Reject Ceasefire Deal
The top military leader of the terror group in Gaza slammed Trump’s 20-point peace plan. Skyscrapers for the Homeless Could Cost Taxpayers Over $1 Billion
Gavin Newsom and California Democrats keep throwing good money after bad. Center Square: Federal taxpayers might be on the hook for more than $1 billion over the lifetime of three downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers designed to house the homeless, state records show. State and city programs provide the funding and financial tools to construct the three towers. But federal Section 8 Housing vouchers will be used to repay the state and city and fund private developer fees and investor returns over the 55-year life of the buildings. “Taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill for over $800,000 per unit for homeless housing,” said Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Vice President of Communications Susan Shelley in an interview with The Center Square. “There should be an audit to determine if this is genuinely the best option to provide housing or if this is just making a lot of people rich off the taxpayers’ dime” ( Center Square). Utah Senator Mike Lee: Let’s hear it for socialist math: “Gavin Newsom took $26 billion and reduced homelessness from 35,000 to 175,000” ( Lee). Elon Musk: The NGOs are paid almost a million dollars a year per homeless person, so their incentive is therefore super high to maximize the number of homeless people and never do anything that would reduce their number, like stopping the sale of fentanyl. Whatever you incentivize will happen ( Musk).

High School Students in Southern California Stand Up for Girls
And the commonsensical notion that young women ought to have the dignity of private spaces shared exclusively with other women (read: XX). California Family: Students at Esperanza High School, lead by junior Lesley Ledesma, staged a walkout this morning after administrators confirmed a trans-identified male student would be permitted to use the girls’ restroom ( California Family). Sophia Lorey of California Family: The girls stood up. The BOYS stood guard. Together, they sent a powerful message: the girls are not alone, they will be protected ( Lorey). Jennifer Oliver O’Connell of RedState: Trans over girls is the policy Esperanza has chosen to embrace. Ledesma made the mature observation that the trade-off is someone else’s supposed dignity has been deemed greater than women’s safety. It’s not right, and it is a violation of the rights of all young women, as Ledesma affirmed: “‘Everyone deserves dignity,’ she said. ‘But dignity cannot come at the cost of someone else’s sense of safety. We must find a solution that protects the rights and feelings of all students, not just some.’” Well said. Ledesma is obviously a smart and brave young lady. But the beauty of this story is that not only did the young women step up, but the young men had their back ( Red State).
