Last Tuesday, Donald Trump took the stage at the UN Headquarters in New York City to address an audience of world leaders. What followed was not the typical General Assembly speech. Rather than a message of unity and hope, Trump took several minutes to thoroughly insult the leaders in front of him—“Your countries are going to hell,” in his own words—and to list out his own supposed achievements in world peace, border control, and the economy.
