Hi John, Governor Gretchen Whitmer here.
In the midst of the chaos and confusion coming out of Washington D.C., Democratic governors have been focused on getting things done. Check it out, John – we’ve been busy:
🩺 Protecting reproductive rights and enshrining reproductive freedom into our state constitutions
🏭 Bringing jobs and economic investments to our states, improving infrastructure, and fixing the damn roads
💊 Ensuring Medicaid programs are more accessible and making prescription drugs more affordable
🍽️ Expanding free meals for kids in school, saving families time and money
My fellow Democratic governors and I have rolled up our sleeves to address these issues and stand up to the harm Republicans are causing:
❌ They’re taking aim at reproductive freedom, proposing extreme, restrictive abortion bans nationwide.
💰 They’re putting billionaires first, forcing average Americans to foot the bill for their chaotic economic plans.
🏥 They’re gutting Medicaid and SNAP, threatening health care for millions of Americans and ripping away food assistance from working families.
When I look at the challenges we’re facing, from protecting reproductive freedom to defending working families, I know the path forward won’t be easy.
We need to know that Democrats nationwide – Democrats like you, John, have our backs as we tackle the issues that really matter to hardworking Americans. So I’m asking you directly: Will you add your name now to stand with Democratic governors who are standing up for you and fighting for our rights nationwide?
Thank you so much for your support and your continued commitment to building a better future.
With gratitude,
Gretchen Whitmer
Governor of Michigan
