(LANSING, MICH) -- Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) Director Anita Fox released the following statement in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Legislature agreeing to finalize and pass a bipartisan and full budget. 

“Each day, DIFS and its dedicated employees help Michiganders resolve insurance and financial services questions and concerns, ensuring they have a trusted place to turn for guidance and support. The bipartisan budget agreement ensures that we can continue carrying out our mission and critical functions to ensure the stability of Michigan’s banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, and insurance companies, while providing uninterrupted licensing and regulatory services upon which businesses and individuals across the state depend.”   

The mission of the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services is to ensure access to safe and secure insurance and financial services fundamental for the opportunity, security, and success of Michigan residents, while fostering economic growth and sustainability in both industries. In addition, the Department provides consumer protection, outreach, and financial literacy and education services to Michigan residents.
