** DEAR FRIENDS,
------------------------------------------------------------
This past weekend, on September 28th, McHenry County once again allowed a brutal steer tailing event to go on — despite an one year ban on Temporary Use Permits for the location. No one stopped them.
At least four steers suffered degloving injuries and one steers horn was broken, among other injuries. We are now preparing this video evidence for the police.
We also saw several men handling their horses very roughly. Law enforcement refused to shut the event down, calling it “a civil issue, not a criminal one.” This is completely false as animal cruelty is a violation of State Law.
This is unacceptable.
Degloving injury
Large number of cars at the Sept. 28 event
We have two more of these events coming up in October, in Ogle County, or as we’ve named it “The Toilet of Illinois” — October 4th and October 18th. Eventbrite is actively selling tickets for the October 18th event, even though animal abuse violates their own Community Guidelines. They’ve acknowledged the violation but still refuse to cancel the event.
We urgently need your help.
Please contact Eventbrite and demand THIS ([link removed]) October 18th listing be removed and all ticket sales refunded.

And if you can, donate to support our team ([link removed]) . We are on the ground documenting, calling authorities, and fighting for enforcement — but we can’t do it without you ([link removed]) . Every dollar helps us stay in the field, gather evidence, and keep pressure on officials.
