Friend — you’ve seen the news — Republicans have shut down the federal government. The effects will be widespread: higher utility bills, dirtier air and water, and fewer people with access to life-saving healthcare.
Republicans are pushing a deal that would cause energy and health care costs to soar, even as we face skyrocketing utility prices and unchecked pollution that can cause illness, such as heat stroke, asthma, and cancer.
Trump is also threatening “mass firings” of government workers, including those who work on disaster relief, which could endanger millions of people in the middle of hurricane and fire season.
We must continue to fight for our communities, our household budgets, and our air and water. Congress needs to hear from people all over the country, standing up and demanding Republicans STOP the harmful gutting of essential services that protect our health, preserve irreplaceable public lands, and make life more affordable

This shutdown isn’t an accident — it’s part of a larger pattern. For months, President Trump and Republicans have been working to dismantle the government: firing federal workers, cutting clean air and water protections, selling off our public lands, and removing funding from clean energy programs — all while threatening our’ health and gutting access to healthcare.

No matter who we are or how we make a living, we all want fairness, stability, and a healthy future for the next generation. Today, that's at risk. Lawmakers need to hear from all of us: reopen the government, end Trump’s theft, lower household costs, and protect our health and well being.
