House Speaker Mike Johnson and the GOP are aiding Trump in holding our
government, its employees and their families hostage: The federal government
officially shut down at midnight after the GOP-controlled Congress failed to
pass a funding bill by midnight.

They did this because they continue to come after OUR health care. And make no
mistake, Republicans did this.

We need to turn up the pressure on Republicans to end this shutdown. We can do
that by supporting their future Democratic challengers in the 2026 elections
and letting the GOP know they’re about to be FIRED. Daily Kos is organizing
