We’re still tallying the numbers, but we can say this: With your support, we’re on track to post our strongest fundraising quarter of the year.
That kind of momentum doesn’t happen without people like you stepping up. I don’t take it for granted, and it’s proof we’re building real momentum together, the kind that can’t be bought.
Of course there’s no time to celebrate. Right as we closed the books on the deadline, House Republicans triggered a government shutdown. This may seem like more of the same political theater from Republicans, but the consequences of this stunt are very real:
* Service members will go without pay
* Law enforcement and federal workers face mass furloughs and firings
* Programs working families depend on are at risk of being defunded
Meanwhile, the White House ballroom construction is still full steam ahead. Don’t say you honor the troops while you fund gold chandeliers. How about funding affordable healthcare instead?
Republicans are more interested in chaos than solutions. They’re choosing to hurt people rather than work on bipartisan answers.
I came to Congress to serve people, not play political games. That’s the contrast: while they sow chaos, we’re building strength. I’m calling out the lies and holding Republicans accountable – because working families in CA-45 and beyond deserve better.
