Governor Mark Gordon Complimentary of BLM’s Amendment Approach to Rock Springs RMP Review

CHEYENNE, Wyo., October 2, 2025 - Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) issued the following statement regarding the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) review of the revised land- use plan which governs 3.6 million acres of BLM lands in Wyoming  — the Rock Springs resource management plan (RMP). The BLM is performing the review in accordance with several of the Trump Administration’s executive orders regarding American energy abundance. The Governor’s remarks are complimentary of the BLM’s measured RMP amendment approach regarding review of the revised RMP.

The Notice of Intent published following the BLM’s announcement earlier this year is another important step in providing a true multiple-use plan for the Rock Springs area.  It is good now to see the BLM’s amendment approach — including open public comment. I am confident this process will provide opportunity to address drastic flaws without restarting this decade-long effort. I encourage everyone impacted by this RMP to participate and see this plan to its conclusion.” - Governor Mark Gordon
