Dear friend,

Well, our campaign has made it into the far right commentary. Fox News responded to one of our posts about getting I.C.E. out of California by name calling and misgendering me.

This is not the first time I've been the subject of right-wing media. 

When I ran for Congress back in 2022, I stood up for LGBTQIA+ education in public schools, and our opponents took many opportunities to misgender me and send their followers to message me with death threats and hate speech. 

Now they are back at it with Fox News at the head of the defamation attempt. I'm not surprised, but it's getting old. 

While Fox plays identity politics and spreads harmful rhetoric, our communities are in crisis. They say they want to debate, but resort to hate speech at every turn. They ignore the issues, and focus on the surface level.

We cannot ignore what Californians really need.

Healthcare. Housing. Immigrant Protections. Increased Minimum Wage. Climate Justice. 

I have never let these bullies keep me from doing the work, and I won't start today.

I will work for you in the legislature, and I will continue to make sure our community needs are prioritized.
