Team, South Carolina lawmakers just held a hearing on Senate Bill 323—one of the most extreme anti-abortion bills we've ever seen.
This extremist bill would:
- Make abortion a felony homicide, with penalties of up to 30 years in prison
- Remove what little remains of exceptions for rape, incest, and fatal fetal anomaly
- Criminalize giving information about abortion—even through a phone call or a website
- Force students to watch an anti-abortion propaganda video called "Meet Baby Olivia" in public schools
- Threaten access to birth control and IVF by rewriting the very definitions of "contraception," "fertilization," and "pregnancy"
