Let me take a moment and say thank you. We just closed out September, and thanks to supporters just like you, we met our ambitious fundraising goal.

This campaign is — and has always been — about you. It’s about tackling the issues that hold our families back. It’s about making sure everybody, no matter their zip code, can thrive.

But right now, Trump and Republicans in Congress have forced us into a government shutdown. They're hurting working people to protect their wealthy and powerful buddies, and federal workers are paying the price.

Republicans, who currently control both chambers of Congress and the White House, canceled votes in the House & sent Congress home early. Republicans control the entire government, but failed to pass a budget. Their failures will hurt working people the most.

I made a pledge during my first victory speech: As long as I have the honor of serving you in Congress, I will be there for you no matter what.
