Dear Friend,
The war in Sudan is intensifying, marked by brutality, siege, and starvation. The horrific conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has displaced nearly 13 million, becoming the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
We’ve followed the money behind Sudanese warlord Hemedti’s militia, the RSF. It led us to the United Arab Emirates, where key players linked to the powerful paramilitary group set up a network of wide-ranging companies, including jewelers, an interior design business, and a management consultancy. Our new report, out today, reveals the names of five key enablers of the RSF and their previously unreported corporate entities.

The RSF is succeeding in its genocidal campaign in part due to its access to international funding streams—financing that is enabling human rights abuses. The RSF needs corporate vehicles and banks to turn smuggled gold into hard currency, and enablers play a key role in setting up the structures that make that happen. As it becomes more important than ever to reveal corrupt networks, we remain committed to exposing these illicit systems and holding perpetrators accountable. As always, we’re grateful for your support. Sincerely,
Laura Ferris Director of Programs
