I hope you are all doing well. I want to first say thank you to everyone who signed our petition in support of SB 1604 (police accountability), which passed alongside several other critical police reform bills during the special session. We had over 250 signatures in just a few days and even got a shoutout on the Senate Floor by Senator Lew Frederick who sponsored the bill for our petition!  

Today, I am writing to invite you all to our Young Democrats of Oregon virtual general membership meeting on June 12th at 2pm. We will be discussing the work that our team has accomplished over the past few months and upcoming opportunities to get involved.

Lastly, we are excited to announce that the Young Democrats of Oregon are teaming up with the College Democrats of Oregon for a fundraising effort for three different organizations: Lane County NAACP, Black Resiliancy Fund and the National ACLU. We've set a goal of raising $10,000 and splitting the proceeds between these three groups. This coming weeks, we will be calling donors across Oregon to encourage them to donate to these organizations. If you would like to join us in making calls or otherwise helping out with this effort, please respond to this email!
