News from Congressman Mike Levin

Dear Neighbor,

I’ve been in Washington trying to negotiate an agreement to stop your health care costs from increasing. Congress must extend Affordable Care Act tax credits by the end of the year. Otherwise, average annual premiums will more than double, from roughly $900 per year in 2025 to more than $1,900 per year in 2026. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Californians are projected to lose their health care.

Many Californians are already receiving notices that tell them exactly how much their health care costs will increase. If you’ve received a notice and want to share how you’re affected, or if you’d like to share your story about how the rising health care costs are impacting you and your family, please tell me here

I had hoped that we could work across the aisle to protect health care access, but my Republican colleagues have been unwilling to negotiate on a bipartisan path forward. Please know that I am doing everything I can to bring Congressional Republicans back to the negotiating table to re-open the federal government as soon as possible.
