FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Governor Mark Gordon Appoints Christopher Boswell to Serve on Wyoming Public Service Commission

CHEYENNE, Wyo, October 1, 2025 - Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) has appointed Christopher Boswell to serve on the Wyoming Public Service Commission (PSC). Mr. Boswell’s appointment follows the departure of Mary Throne, who served since 2019 and resigned in August. He joins current PSC commissioners Mike Robinson and Chris Petrie.

“First, on behalf of Wyoming, special thanks to Mary Throne for her impressive service to our state. She made valuable contributions while serving on the Commission, and I wish her well in her future endeavors,” Governor Gordon said. “Citizens of Wyoming will be grateful Chris Boswell has stepped up to fill this vacancy. He is an avid public servant with a proven track record of service. I am excited for his perspective and stewardship helping to guide Wyoming’s energy and economic future on the Public Service Commission.”

Former Wyoming State Representative Boswell served the citizens of House District 39. During his State House tenure, he was elected House Minority Leader. He also served on the Industrial Siting Council and as the Vice President for Governmental and Community Affairs at the University of Wyoming. He was Legislative Liaison for Governor Matt Mead and Chief of Staff for Governor Dave Freudenthal.

A long-time resident of Wyoming, Mr. Boswell received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming.

"I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the PSC and look forward to a good deal of listening and learning as the Commission continues to address some mighty complex issues. Whether it be the increasing demand for power, reckoning with consumer costs or grid reliability — the market is ever changing, and the commission has a full plate in the years ahead," Boswell said.

The PSC is responsible for the regulation of public utilities across the state. Regulated public utilities include electric, natural gas, water, and telecommunications services. The three members who comprise the Commission ensure Wyomingites have access to safe, adequate, and reliable service at just and reasonable rates.
