October 2025 Newsletter

Dear WIIS Friends & Colleagues,

The end of this month marks 25 years since the passage of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, more commonly referred to as the Women, Peace and Security agenda. We at WIIS Global look forward to following all your programming and events related to the anniversary.

We will be hosting our conference, The Future of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda: Advancing Innovation, Resilience, and Collective Action, on November 12, 2025. While this event was originally planned for October 8, 2025, our new date allows us to come together as a community, reflect, and mobilize following a month filled with conversations about the future of the WPS agenda. After our conference, we will share key takeaways with all of you and create space to reflect as a global community.

As we look beyond the anniversary, WIIS is committed to remaining a thought leader within today's emerging security landscape, and we cannot do this without all of you — our members, supporters, friends, and partners. In the months to come, we will share more information about how WIIS is tackling these new, transnational security threats and invite you all to join us in meeting this critical moment.

Onward!

Dr. Lauren Van Metre

President & CEO, Women In International Security (WIIS)
