Celebrate Transit Month at our upcoming Rider First Awards! |
|
|
Join San Francisco Transit Riders and Seamless Bay Area on October 10th to close out Transit Month by celebrating some of the people who have gone above and beyond to improve transit in the past year. We'll honor bus operators, transit planners, and advocates alike who help us build a more equitable, growing, and accessible public transit system and culture for all.
The Rider First Awards cap off a month of events, rallies, and our Ride Contest. It's also where we'll be announcing our various Ride Contest winners and handing out prizes. This is your LAST opportunity to score your very own exclusive Transit Month 2025 Clipper Card! We'll have fun activities, special guest speakers, and light food and refreshments. Come celebrate with us!
Event Details Friday, October 10, 2025 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

THE FUTURE OF MUNI AND BAY AREA TRANSIT October 16 | 6 pm - 7 pm
This educational event will provide an overview of MUNI and Bay Area transit finances with the latest updates on the effort to avoid a transit fiscal cliff, followed by questions from the audience.
The recent state budget allocated funding, including a $750 million loan, to Muni, BART, Caltrain, and AC Transit to maintain services through the end of next year. However, the funding remains uncertain as the Governor's Office has failed to issue the loan (as of September 8th). Two revenue measures are being discussed and likely to be on the November 2026 ballot-- a subregional sales tax (San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties) to support transit across and within these jurisdictions and a local SF parcel tax for Muni.
Support SFTR's Community and Policy Manager, Dylan Fabris, who will be a presenter at this event. |
