Ottawa County Unemployment Rate for August 2025

Preliminary unemployment rates for August 2025 were recently released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. Ottawa County had an unemployment rate of 4.6%, a 0.6% drop from July’s rate of 5.2%.

Ottawa County was tied with Allegan County as having the 11th lowest unemployment rate of all Michigan counties in August. Livingston County had the lowest unemployment rate at 3.1%. Oscoda County had the highest rate at 9.6%. All Michigan counties saw a decrease in their unemployment rate from July to August. Michigan’s unemployment rate in August was 5.0%.
