Team Kermit is one of the most inspiring groups in the Livestrong community, led with passion and heart by longtime champion Steven Branfman. Steven’s dedication to Livestrong began after his son Jared’s cancer journey, when the Foundation became a vital source of support for his family. Since then, he has carried Jared’s memory forward through more than 15 Challenges, raising thousands of dollars personally and uniting his team to raise thousands more in support of survivors and their loved ones. What makes Team Kermit so special is not just their fundraising, but their spirit—the hugs at the finish line, the friendships formed, and the unwavering belief that no one faces cancer alone. Steven’s story reminds us why we come together each year.Watch his video, feel the impact, and join Team Kermit at the Livestrong Challenge on November 2. Walk, run, ride, or volunteer and be part of something bigger than yourself.
This year, we’re thrilled to introduce something brand new to the Livestrong Challenge: the Family Fun Zone and our special Family Pack Registration! We want the Challenge to be more than just a day of cycling, running, and walking—it’s a celebration of community, family, and honoring those impacted by cancer.
The Family Fun Zone will be filled with activities for kids of all ages, from games and crafts to storytime and snacks, creating a space where everyone can join in the fun. With the Family Pack, you can register five family members for just $50, making it easier than ever to lace up together, share the experience, and cross the finish line side by side.
Let’s make this Challenge a true family celebration. We can’t wait to see you there!
The Livestrong Challenge wouldn’t be possible without the incredible energy and generosity of our volunteers. From greeting participants at check-in, to cheering at the finish line, to helping in our Family Fun Zone or Celebration Café, there are so many ways to get involved and be part of the magic of Challenge.
At the finish line of the Livestrong Challenge, each cancer survivor receives a yellow—and every year, longtime volunteer Dorothy is there to greet them with a smile. She says the experience is "heartwarming."
We have a variety of shifts and times available, so it’s easy to find a way to fit volunteering into your schedule. Whether you can give a few hours or the whole day, your contribution makes a lasting impact. We simply couldn’t do this without you. Sign up today and be part of the team that brings the Livestrong Challenge to life.

Have you gotten your copy of My Brave Friend yet? The reviews are in: our new children's book is opening doors to honest conversations about childhood cancer, friendship, and the power of kindness.
"I am very impressed with this book. This book can be used to open discussion between children and their parents. The character of Noah is well done. When someone has cancer they need to know they have the support of a friend like Noah." -Debra Gaynor, Midwest Book Review
