Republicans just shut down the federal government,
John.

Why? Because they’re refusing to fund health care programs that save
lives. They already made the biggest cuts to health care in our lifetimes;
now, they want to raise insurance costs for millions of Americans. I can’t
stress this enough: these cuts will cost lives.

That is absolutely unacceptable. Democrats are right to refuse to
rubber-stamp a budget that keeps these devastating cuts in place.

For months, Republicans in Congress have gone it alone—wreaking havoc on
our country and standing back as Donald Trump raises costs and slashes
programs that help Americans get by. When the government officially shut
down last night, where were the House Republicans? Nowhere to be seen.

Protecting our health care is going to take all of us, doing everything we
can, to stand up to Trump. Whether that means fighting these massive cuts
in Congress, or electing leaders in California who are willing to take
bold stands to protect our health care.

Californians — including from the attacks lobbed at us by Donald Trump.
Can you chip in $5 to help us win?
