One in six New Zealanders can't afford their GP. We're writing to Luxon – your name will make it stronger.

Hi ,

Right now, one in six New Zealanders can't afford to see their doctor.

Every day, the Labour team and I hear stories from people in our communities about how hard it is to get the care they need. And it’s no wonder: in some places GP fees are close to $100 a visit and even more for a longer appointment.

This cannot go on.

For two years, Christopher Luxon's Government has cut healthcare and driven up costs. Now, things have spiralled out of control. We need urgent action.

We're writing to Christopher Luxon demanding action on healthcare costs – but the letter will be stronger with your name on it.

Here’s what’s happening: because of National’s chronic underfunding, GPs are forced to choose between raising fees for patients or closing their doors.

When people can't afford a $100 GP visit, people simply don’t go. They get sicker and end up in emergency departments that are already stretched beyond capacity – with patients waiting hours in crowded corridors and carparks.

When we raised this with National directly, they dismissed rising GP fees as "misinformation." That shows just how out of touch they are.

But we know the truth: people are struggling to access basic care, and Christopher Luxon has no plan to fix it. Together, we can push him to act.

Add your name to our open letter demanding Christopher Luxon stop the cuts and take real action on the cost of healthcare.

Healthcare should never be a luxury. By adding your name, you’ll show there's real demand for change.

Labour will make it cheaper and easier to see a doctor – so people stay healthier, and hospitals are there when you need them most. We will keep demanding this Government does the same.

Thank you for your support,

Chris
