In case you missed it, our new president, Josh Orton, is taking the reins
at a critical moment for our courts and our democracy.
Demand Justice has always fought for a federal judiciary that works for
everyday people — where judges and justices don’t bow to authoritarianism,
where they don’t rule to enrich Trump or his allies, and where the rule of
law protects everyone, not just the powerful few.
The threat to our courts — and as a result, our democracy — is urgent and
bigger than ever before. Trump is filling federal benches with loyalists
who put self-interest above justice, and he is weaponizing the courts to
bend to his will. The moment calls for bold action — not half-measures.
Under our new leadership, Demand Justice is stepping up with a strategic
plan to meet this moment head-on:
1. Holding Everyone Accountable — Including Democrats:
Lawmakers who shrink from defending our courts will face consequences.
Demand Justice is demanding stronger Democratic opposition to Trump’s
takeover and ensuring no one sidesteps this fight.
2. Exposing Oligarchy in the Courts:
Trump’s nominees aren’t just loyalists — they are enablers of corruption
and oligarchy. Demand Justice is raising awareness of how these judicial
decisions favor billionaires over working people, shaping an economy and a
legal system that rewards the powerful at the expense of working people.
3. Building a Grassroots Engine for Change:
Courts shape lives. Demand Justice is mobilizing a nationwide grassroots
movement to fight Trump’s judicial nominees, and turning progressive
energy into action.
The result: Holding officials accountable, exposing corruption, and
organizing voters will help reshape the courts to serve everyday
Americans, resist authoritarianism, and stop Trump’s self-serving judges
