John,
We just went into a shutdown, because Republicans refused to work with us to fix the healthcare crisis that they created.
Donald Trump and Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House.
They need to do their job and put forward a budget that will help Americans. They are refusing to come together to lower health care costs and keep the government open.
I’ve heard from New Jerseyans all over my state that they are struggling with health care costs and, indeed, the rising costs of virtually everything.
Republicans are refusing to work with us to do something about it. They hold all the power in Washington, yet they are choosing to shut down the government and let working Americans’ insurance rates skyrocket.
But we are going to continue to stand and fight to try to help Americans.
Regardless of party, the Senate should be committed to doing the things necessary to ensure that Americans have the health care coverage they need. We should be committed to making life more affordable. We should be committed to not leaving vulnerable communities behind.
It’s a shame that this is happening under Republicans. And John, I’m not going to stand by and simply watch it happen — I’m going to use my voice to ensure the American people know exactly who to blame, and I’m going to fight to put this nightmare to an end.
With love and gratitude,
Cory
