Folks, at 12:01 AM last night, the government shut down.

The Affordable Care Act tax credits that countless Iowans rely on to afford their health insurance are set to expire — leaving Iowans to face the highest hike in insurance premiums in 15 years, all while the cost of living continues to skyrocket.

Health care premiums are going to DOUBLE at a time where 100,000 Iowans already lost Medicare coverage.

And where are Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Zach Nunn during this chaos? On vacation.

They voted to gut Medicaid early this year, and are now once again turning their backs on Iowans by not being in D.C. working on a bipartisan compromise to keep our government open.

This government shutdown will affect millions of people. And it’s not just a matter of money, it’s about making sure we have a stable healthcare system that is affordable and accessible to everyone.

It’s time to elect change. Iowa deserves elected officials who will go to bat for them, not betray them during a time of need. If you can, will you chip in $25 to IDP today to help us support the Democrats running to replace all four of our representatives?
