Thanks to unfair, undemocratic tricks, the 2026 election is going to be tight as a coin toss. Republicans are desperate, and looking at every state they can to redraw maps and tip the scales in their favor.

It’s clear that Republicans are doing whatever they can to cheat and win:

• In Texas, manipulated district lines drawn in the August special session could help Republicans achieve Donald Trump’s explicit goal of picking up five seats ahead of the 2026 midterms. 


• In Missouri, another special session forced through a new gerrymandered map that is designed to add an additional GOP House seat. 


• Ohio is currently using a map that the Ohio Supreme Court rejected as unconstitutionally gerrymandered. As leaders work to redraw this maps as per their state constitution, Republican Senator Bernie Moreno is pushing for a map that ups GOP control, potentially disenfranchising millions of voters, especially from communities of color.

Our partners are fighting back in court in Texas and Missouri to prevent these gerrymanders from going into effect. We’re actively tracking legislative activity in Ohio. And we’re ready to act in the other 47 states to prevent Republicans from taking away our voting rights.
