Friend, 

I wore the uniform of a Wind Cave National Park Ranger, and frankly, I’m disgusted by this government shutdown.

It doesn’t just mean closed gates at Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, or the Badlands. It means good, honest, dedicated public servants—my former colleagues—are being used as political pawns by the folks in D.C. They are forced to work without pay, or told to go home, all while the South Dakota families, veterans, and local business owners they serve are left out in the cold.

This is about as reckless a failure of leadership as you can get.

I was raised to tell the truth and take care of my neighbor. In Washington, the guys in charge of the White House, House, and Senate have forgotten how to do both. They have proven they are comfortable with chaos and pain if it means scoring political points or accomplishing their goals.

That pisses me off. And I bet it pisses you off, too.

I’m running to bring discipline and common sense back to the Senate. As a JAG officer, I swore an oath to the Constitution. I do not serve a political party or a single personality. And I will not exploit the suffering of those I serve to gain media attention or become famous.

We need a Senator who prioritizes stable governance, fiscal discipline, and above all, integrity.
