We’re approaching a government shutdown next week.

On September 30, the government will run out of funds, and Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are choosing to put the health and safety of Americans at risk over coming to the table with Democrats to find a solution.

Instead of doing their jobs, Republicans are holding the government hostage, and frontline communities and working people will pay the price. A wide range of environmental programs and public services will be stalled—from energy affordability assistance programs and pollution protection to public lands staffing. Even programs like social security disbursements can be impacted because of staff reductions causing delays and gridlock.


Progress will be delayed, and protections will be removed at a moment when we can’t afford to lose them.

Join our community of EnviroVoters and email your Congressional Representative and ask them to speak up against a government shutdown.

Make no mistake, Republicans have the power to stop this shutdown—they control the House, Senate, and White House but are prioritizing delivering payouts to billionaires over everyday Americans.
