I, along with my Democratic colleagues, have been in Washington all week, doing our job: working to keep our government open and fighting to protect affordable healthcare for families in Northwest Ohio and across the country.
But my Republican colleagues? They literally walked out. At the very moment families need stability and solutions, the GOP left working people, seniors, and children to pay the price.
Here’s what’s at stake:
29,000 of my neighbors in OH-09 rely on Enhanced ACA Premium Tax Credits to afford their health coverage. If Republicans refuse to act, those families could see premiums skyrocket by thousands of dollars overnight.
A family of four in our district earning $64,000 could see their annual premiums increase by 217%.
A 60-year-old couple could be hit with an extra $15,000 per year in healthcare costs.
Hospitals across Ohio — especially rural ones — are at risk of cutting services or closing entirely.
This isn’t just bad politics, friend. It’s cruel, reckless, and devastating for our communities. Healthcare is a human right, and instead of protecting it, the GOP is inflicting pain on the very people they represent.
I came to Washington to fight for the people of Northwest Ohio and to make sure no family loses the care they depend on. That’s the work I’ll keep doing every single day.
But here’s the truth: my district is a top target for the NRCC, and MAGA super PACs are already pouring dark money into this race. I need your grassroots support to keep up the fight.
