Friends,
Yesterday, in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on crime in blue cities, members of the committee attacked our organization. Rather than elevating the life-saving work happening to prevent gun violence in communities and the downward trend in violence in cities across the country, they chose to mischaracterize who we are and what we stand for.
While some elected officials would rather engage in distractions or debates that take us away from what matters most, we’re going to do what we’ve always done: speak truth to power, stand with our communities, and advocate for the effective community-led programs and policies that create safety for Black and Brown communities.
So we would like to set the record straight:
Community Justice exists to end gun violence by investing in Black and Brown communities. [[link removed]]
We advance proven, people-centered solutions — built not on politics, but on data, lived experience, and impact. We fight for a public safety ecosystem that includes violence prevention, trauma recovery, housing access, economic stability, and real accountability.
And it’s working . [[link removed]] If it wasn’t working, they wouldn’t bother attacking us.
We refuse to let our dedication get buried in noise or distractions. This work matters too much. And we need your support to make that voice louder than before.
We’re inviting you to join us — or rejoin us — by becoming a supporter. Your philanthropy helps us stay focused, flexible, and fully committed to this mission— no matter what attempts try to distort our story. It ensures we remain a voice for those too often overlooked, misrepresented, or left out of the conversation. Whether you give $5 or join others at our average gift of $25 , or contribute monthly as a Justice Sustainer , every dollar helps sustain our presence, our voice, and our impact.
As we begin a new month — and a new quarter — we’re calling on you to stand with us in this fight. We’re working to finish the year as strong as we started, and with your support, we won’t lose momentum.
Will you join us and contribute to power the road ahead?
