After President Trump and the Republican-led Congress did not pass a single funding bill before the September 30 deadline, the federal government has shut down.

Meanwhile, Medicare and Medicaid are being slashed, rural hospitals are closing, and health insurance premiums are about to double. But instead of working across the aisle to keep the government open and reverse these cuts, conservatives canceled votes in the House this week.

I'm here in Washington ready to negotiate an agreement to end this shutdown and protect your health care. It's time for conservatives to meet us at the negotiating table.
