The federal government has shut down, and Maryland is being hit hard.

Here’s why:
✅ Nearly 150,000 federal workers and over 200,000 contract jobs in Maryland are at risk.
✅ The state could lose $700,000 in tax revenue each day the shutdown continues.
✅ Trump is threatening more layoffs and cuts to benefits families depend on.
✅ Without restored ACA subsidies, Marylanders could see health insurance premiums jump by 20%.

This isn’t leadership. Republicans are holding our communities, economy, and health care hostage to push through devastating cuts. Maryland deserves better. Democrats are right to reject the Republican spending bill, and they must hold the line. They cannot vote for a deal Trump and the GOP have already promised to violate. Real lives are at stake.
