First: When Maine Senator Susan Collins cast the deciding vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, she guaranteed that abortion rights would be safe. It’s “absurd,” she’d go on to claim, to think that “he’s going to repeal Roe v. Wade.”1
Then: On Monday, Brett Kavanaugh voted to overturn precedent and attack reproductive freedom. Once again, Collins jumped to his defense, arguing that he “gave no indication in his dissenting opinion that he supports overturning Roe.”2
Now: The only “absurd” thing is Susan Collins thinking that we’ll let her continued support of Kavanaugh slide. We need your support to show Collins the door and replace her with Sara Gideon — a true champion for reproductive freedom — this November.
