Team, students belong in the classroom. Full stop.
But as students, families, and educators head back to school, we’ve seen an alarming number of immigrant youth detained.
Students and youth across the country, some too young to be in kindergarten, are being abducted and disappeared. Young people aren’t just being torn from their families, team. They’re being taken away from crucial resources, including their education and even life-saving healthcare.
For some students, their friends and classmates — people they’ve known their whole lives — will not be in attendance this year. These cruel abductions must end.
To create a future where we can all thrive, we have to meet this moment with courage and demand what all students deserve:
