Republicans have once again driven our country into a government shutdown — and let’s be clear about why.
They want to slash funding for critical programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and ACA tax credits that millions of working families depend on. And where do they want that money to go? Straight into an already bloated ICE budget that’s being used to terrorize immigrant families and vulnerable communities.
Here’s what I need you to know:
I will not fund authoritarianism.
I will not support fascism.
I will not vote to allow Republicans to keep stealing from working families to benefit the wealthy few.
This shutdown isn’t an accident. It’s part of the far-right’s larger plan to dismantle our social safety nets, weaponize the federal government against our communities, and funnel resources into their authoritarian agenda.
I refuse to sit quietly while Republicans try to hold our communities hostage.
We can and we will build a government that invests in people — not fear, not cruelty, not fascism. But it will take all of us standing together to make it happen.
