There may not be federal elections this year but millions of Americans will cast a ballot nonetheless. That’s because there are state and local elections all over the country on November 4.

I want to be sure you are absolutely ready and confident to cast YOUR ballot next month. Be sure to do an ID check now to find out if you need an ID to vote. That way, there’s still time to secure one, in case it turns out you need something you don’t have yet.

If it turns out you don’t have an accepted form of voter ID, VoteRiders is here to help, for free! Our staff and volunteers are ready to help voters track down documents, schedule appointments and transportation, and cover the fees.

State and local elections matter a lot. Our local leaders are often the ones making the most direct decisions about our everyday lives — decisions about our schools, roads, transportation, housing, and other local services.

That’s why your freedom to vote is so important, even in years without national elections! Be sure to do your ID check, and urge your friends, family, and neighbors to do one, too.
