For nearly 85 years, Freedom House has stood with those on the front lines of the fight for democracy and human rights as they lit the torch and led the way toward freedom around the world. 

In the past decade alone, our work has supported more than 25,000 at-risk human rights defenders and organizations in more than 140 countries, providing critical lifesaving services, help with relocation, and legal assistance to those who need it most. But US government cuts have severely undermined our ability to sustain this and other essential work in support of human rights defenders.  

To respond to the greatest funding challenge in our history, we are turning to supporters like you and launching a new campaign to raise $1.5 million by October 31.

In the coming weeks, you'll hear more about our global efforts—to free political prisoners, to defend religious freedom, to stand with journalists under attack, and to uphold free expression.

At a moment when authoritarian leaders are advancing their repressive agendas at the expense of freedom-loving people everywhere, every dollar counts.
