Folks,

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Washington has a talent for making easy things hard and hard things impossible.

Now, the Democrats are once again flirting with a government shutdown. Not because they are fighting for you, but because they're fighting to protect their own power.

To my colleagues across the aisle, I can't make it any plainer: please don't harm the American people. Pretty please. With a cherry on top.

But we both know they don't listen to common sense.

That's why it's up to folks like us to hold the line, to remind them that the government exists to serve the American people. Not the other way around.
