At URGE, we believe action is the only way forward. That’s why this fall we’re launching We URGE Action, a campaign to help you stay informed, speak out, and vote. |
Over the next few weeks, stay tuned for updates from our team on both how you can take action with us and tools for speaking about RJ in your community. |
Right now, Congress is putting lives at risk through a series of budget maneuvers and harmful policies. |
Here’s a snapshot of what we’re up against: | |
A backdoor abortion ban: Congress passed the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which has already forced Planned Parenthood clinics to close in Ohio, Texas, and California, cutting off essential care for thousands. |
Cuts to critical programs: Congress approved the White House’s request to cancel $9 billion in funds that were part of a rescissions package. By doing so, they effectively gutted global health initiatives, slashed economic development funds, and even forced the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (NPR/PBS) to announce its closure.
| |
| An active government shutdown: Congress remains deadlocked on the FY 2026 budget. As of today, Federal agencies have shut down, jeopardizing programs our communities rely on. |
Healthcare exclusions: Millions of immigrants are denied access to Medicaid and the ACA solely because of their immigration status — an exclusion rooted in racism and xenophobia. |
| |
We are fighting back, from exposing the harm of these budget cuts to pushing for bold solutions like the HEAL for Immigrant Families Act, which would expand health care access for immigrant communities and move us closer to dignity and justice for all. |
Donate to URGE to fuel our advocacy, grassroots organizing, and youth-led campaigns against these attacks. |

Together, we can demand accountability and the future our communities deserve |
