Democrats' Government Shutdown

Good morning,

On September 19, House Republicans passed a clean, nonpartisan, short-term continuing resolution to responsibly keep the government open, protect veterans and seniors, and ensure federal workers receive pay. BUT, Democrats have decided they want to shut down the government because President Trump is in office – despite voting 13 times for virtually the same legislation during the Biden Administration.

The Democrats' counterproposal to the nonpartisan, clean, seven-week government funding bill will cost $1.5 trillion in additional spending, restore taxpayer-funded health care for illegal aliens, repeal the $50 billion rural healthcare fund, and provide $500 million in funding to prop up left-wing news outlets.

Democrats voted to shut down the government.

Your feedback is helpful to us. Do you support the Democrat-led government shutdown?

Thank you,

Office of Speaker Mike Johnson
