Dear AFGE Activist,
As we face another government shutdown, we know many of you are feeling the stress and uncertainty that comes with being without pay through no fault of your own. While we continue fighting to end this shutdown and protect your rights, we also want to make sure no federal worker faces this crisis alone.
That's why AFGE is launching our Mutual Aid Network: Feds Helping Feds – a platform where federal workers can connect with each other to share specialized knowledge, skills, and support during these challenging times. Whether you need guidance on working with your mortgage lender to defer payments, advice on talking to your kids about the shutdown, or access to discounted professional services, or whether you can offer expertise like free home repair consultations, financial planning services, or other specialized support, this network is designed to strengthen our community through the sharing of skills and knowledge. If you are aware of resources tailored to government workers impacted by a shutdown, please use this network to share those resources.
We've seen the power of federal workers supporting each other through previous shutdowns, and we know that together we're stronger. This network will help us organize that support more effectively – connecting those who need assistance with those who can provide it, sharing information about local resources, and building the solidarity that will carry us through this difficult period.
Your participation helps build a stronger federal worker community. Every connection made through this network is a reminder that we're not just colleagues – we're a union, and we'll get through this together.
In Solidarity,
AFGE
This network is open to all federal workers. Share this with your colleagues, friends, and family members in federal service.
