Dear Friend,
Extremism that has festered for some time suddenly exploded into violence for the entire world to see as Charlie Kirk—a Christian, father, husband, and standard-bearer for Biblical values—was assassinated. The brutal attack was followed by hatred, as some on the Left openly celebrated his murder.
Evil is no longer moving in the shadows. Our nation is in trouble and the only answer is Jesus Christ.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team’s crisis-trained chaplains were honored to minister in both Utah (the site of the horrific assassination) and Arizona (where Charlie lived), to bring Christ’s hope and comfort to those who are mourning. Many of those in attendance that tragic day shared their stories with us.
At one of the vigils, Alan* talked with one of our chaplains. The young man was visibly shaken by the tragedy and his own spiritual state. “I need to be closer to God,” he said. After Charlie’s death, Alan was left wondering what would have happened to him if he had been shot.
Our chaplain answered Alan’s questions about Jesus Christ and life after death—and then right there at the memorial site, Alan said he was ready to surrender his life to the Lord in repentance and faith.
Will you join us in lifting up people like Alan, and individuals across the entire nation, that many will find new life in Christ in the aftermath of this senseless murder? Pray for Christians as well. We must be faithful to proclaim the Gospel in the days, months, and years to come.
