It was wonderful seeing so many of you at 9th annual National Clean Energy Week (NCEW)!
With dozens of lawmakers, industry leaders and participants in attendance, and new polling from CRES about Republican support for clean energy, this NCEW was the best yet. Thanks to our friends, sponsors and decisionmakers, NCEW had thought-provoking panels, armchair discussions and policymaker remarks from both sides of the aisle.
I thoroughly enjoyed moderating the permitting reform panel at the Policymakers Symposium as well as the conversation at the NCEW dinner with Chairman Bruce Westerman and Rep. Golden about their bipartisan permitting reform bill, the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development, or SPEED Act, which CRES has endorsed.
September has been an especially busy month. The CRES team traveled to Las Vegas for RE+ earlier in the month and to the Big Apple last week for New York Climate Week. I spoke on several panels about bipartisan engagement to advance clean energy.
A big surprise was an even-keeled conversation with renowned clean tech investor and climate advocate Tom Steyer. He and I come at climate solutions differently, but we found plenty to agree on.
We also had our annual Clean Energy Champions celebration, where we honored Sens. Curtis (R-Utah) and Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Reps. Garbarino (R-N.Y.) and Kiggans (R-Va.) and their staffs!

CRES President and CEO Heather Reams participated in RE+’s conference in Las Vegas, where she participated on a panel entitled, “Main Stage: Getting it Right: Communicating Energy Projects Through a Conservative Lens.” Reams outlined Republican priorities and the future of energy tax credits post reconciliation. She also raised the importance of an all-of-the-above energy strategy, permitting reform and smart investments in clean energy projects nationwide.

CRES National Poll: Republican Voters Continue to Support Clean Energy
Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) recently released a national survey from Peak Insights showing Republicans, Republican-leaning Independents and true Independents’ support of clean energy, federal incentives to expand clean energy development, onshoring energy production and an all-of-the-above energy approach. This information is critical for showcasing favorable public opinion when it comes to clean energy projects and reaffirms that American support for clean energy projects is strong.

Op-Ed: Rep. Tim Walberg and Heather Reams: Michigan is leading the nuclear resurgence
CRES President and CEO Heather Reams penned an op-ed with Chairman Tim Walberg (R-Mich.), who serves as vice chair of the Conservative Climate Caucus. This piece focused on the reopening of the Palisades Nuclear Plant, and the vast potential of nuclear power across the nation. They made a strong point to recognize that in order to fully achieve American energy dominance, we must utilize an all-of-the-above approach and capitalize on domestic resources.
Op-Ed: Rep. Bob Latta and Heather Reams: Permitting reform is the key to American competitiveness
CRES President and CEO Heather Reams penned an op-ed with Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio) focused on the importance of permitting reform. They touched on next generation technology, and how red tape is in the way of building our energy infrastructure. Latta and Reams both come from areas with strong data center capabilities and understand that we will need every electron available to power America’s power grid.
