Email from 40 Days for Life Two major wins John, It's been a year of historically bad days for Planned Parenthood...and today is one of the worst! After dozens of 40 Days for Life campaigns, the largest abortion facility in the world in Houston is officially out of business! Over the last 15 years, this seven-story temple to child sacrifice has ended many thousands of lives. But the power of prayer and the defunding of Planned Parenthood mean that those days are finally over! And that's not all... ...because starting today, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin has ceased providing abortions, thanks to the federal defunding of Planned Parenthood that was signed into law on July 4. Fr. Rick Heilman spoke at a 40 Days for Life rally in Madison, the state's capital, and said he believes it is not a coincidence that the abortion chain announced plans to halt abortions just as the vigil was beginning. Planned Parenthood now plans to try to lure women across the state border to have abortions in Illinois, but that's a risky bet. The farther a woman has to travel to abort, the less likely she is to go through with it. And while it went largely unreported in the media, abortion numbers have dropped in abortion "sanctuary" states like Illinois and New Mexico! Help is NOT on the way for Planned Parenthood. Another cataclysmic day is approaching: Planned Parenthood's flagship facility in Manhattan is scheduled to close its doors--one month from today! Everett, Washington Vigil participants outside Seattle were delighted when a woman driving by stopped to share her pro-life testimony and to thank them for their prayers. "She told us that when she was 16, she was addicted to cocaine," recalled Judith, the local campaign leader. "She said she was very close to having an abortion. Then God rescued her and her baby! She told us she chose life!" The woman's baby is now 20 years old, and her story sent a powerful message to the protesters who were out opposing the 40 Days for Life vigil. "I pray that voices like this lady's are protected and projected!" Judith said. Concord, California, and Tampico, Mexico The Concord vigil schedule was looking pretty empty, so Rebecca was delighted to find plenty of volunteers praying in front of Planned Parenthood. One prayer warrior after another showed up to join the vigil--including an international visitor! "We even had a lady from 40 Days for Life [in] Tampico, Mexico," Rebecca noted. "She took a picture to send to the 40 Days for Life [campaign] in Tampico." Rebecca was delighted by the strong turnout she wasn't expecting...but don't leave your local campaign leader fearing that nobody will show up to pray. Sign up at 40daysforlife.com/locations. Thousand Oaks, California, and Nigeria Concord wasn't the only 40 Days for Life city to welcome an international visitor. The Thousand Oaks, California, vigil has seen high turnout--including a visiting priest from Uganda--who came out to pray! They were overjoyed at seeing the star. --Matthew 2:10 Jesus, you are the divine physician and the source of all life. Bless doctors, nurses, and health care professionals so that they might always protect the gift of life. Help them to see you in every patient. As you heal our souls, let them heal our bodies. Amen.
